Our Turn to Thank You!
- A PBS Kids Zine -
(Psst! Check back soon for an exciting announcement!)
We received so much love on Volume One, it’s overflowed into
our next passion project: Volume Two! Let’s show PBS how much they
mean to us with even more love from Viewers Like You.
- What's This? -
What's a zine / fanzine?
A zine is a magazine made by the people, showcasing their thoughts, interests, and creations. A fanzine is a zine made by fans of a particular topic with the intent to be shared with other fans, fostering a sense of community around a given interest.
Okay, what's this zine about?
This zine is themed around PBS Kids shows. We want to honor some of the shows that made our childhoods educational and fun, so we're putting together this fanzine to show our appreciation. Our first zine, “Our Turn to Thank You: A PBS Kids Fanzine, Volume One,” garnered enough love and support to prompt a Volume Two, which is what we’re putting together now!
Who can join this zine?
You can be anywhere in the world, but you must be 18 years old or older to contribute. This is a strict safety measure: if you are under the age of 18, you will not be permitted to join this zine. You also must have a Discord account to communicate with the Zine team.
Will AUs (alternate universes) or OCs (original characters) be allowed?
Sorry, no AUs or OCs this time. If you have AU or OC ideas, we hope you enjoy working on those projects separately! But for now, just the stuff from the shows for this zine.
What about character ships/shipping?
We ask that contributors feature only ships found within the shows. Shipping can be fun, but let's stick to canon relationships and pairings for this zine!
Can I buy this zine?
Absolutely!! Once Volume Two is ready to show, we’ll have it available for digital and physical pre-orders. We also plan to have merch available for purchase! Check back at a later date and follow our social for more info!
Where does the money from our zine sales go?
All the money from our zine is intended to be donated directly to PBS. Without them, this zine wouldn't exist in the first place!

Bea
Hello! My name's Bea! It's nice to meet all of you and I can't wait to see what amazing pieces we can make together as a team! While this is the 3rd zine I've hosted, this project really means a lot to me. PBS Kids had a major influence on my life and the programs have shaped me to become the adult I am today. It's very devastating to see what's currently going on in the world and I believe education should be accessible to everybody, especially kids. This zine is to pay homage to the programming block that has shaped a generation of kids to now adults. Hope you can have fun with us, as we thank PBS Kids for everything it's done.

Bri
Hi! My name is Bri. This is the second zine I’ve been part of and I’m so excited to see what people come up with and contribute for this zine. I had the opportunity to see my local PBS station last year in person, and it was fantastic to see what we as a community can create. This zine is needed more than ever in our current political climate. Let us continue to give children quality education from the comfort of their couch, for free, with the help of viewers like you.

SCYTHE
Hello, my name is Scythe and I'm new to the zine scene! PBS Kids was a big part of my childhood, and I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to help organize something to honor those memories and experiences. Having access to educational media and resources, especially in early childhood, is so important to ensuring that kids grow up with an appreciation and excitement for the world around them. Kids deserve love and care, and this is part of it. Having everyone come together over something so crucial to our childhoods means so much to me, and I can't wait to see what this project becomes. I'm excited to work with everyone!
Viveela
Hi everyone I'm Vee or Viveela works too! This is my third zine I have the honor to be a part of, but my first where I help manage the behind the scenes for it! I enjoy making little fanarts for the things that speak to me. I grew up with PBSkids and still enjoy seeing the newer things it has to offer to each new generation. It hurts to see the current state of education, I want to give back to PBSkids because they shaped me so much as a child. It was a blessing to be able to view free quality programming and learn at the same time. In this zine we aim to show our appreciation. Whether you grew up with their broadcasting or discovered the heart in their shows later on. Together let's thank them like they've thanked us.
